Mr. Pickles
10 April 2005
I remember the day we first met this lil guy at the RSPCA. I fell in love immediately! There was a note outside his cage, its said he was a "smoochable" kitty. We went up to him and he smooched! how could we not adopt him??
I couldn't wait to "officially" adopt him. When the time came I eagerly called the RSPCA and made an appointment to pick him up.
I remember it being a gray, rainy day when we picked him up but that couldn't stop my happy glow. When we got home he was scared and went to hide in one corner. After a few minutes he came out to investigate.
That's my curious Mr. Pickle! He instantly realise that he was the king of the house and we were his lowly servants. Anyone who's every had a cat knows you never "own" them, they "own" you!. He's such a friendly cat, probably everyone in the complex knows him. Pickles did have a bad habit of following people tho, it always worried me that he'd venture out too far.
It was a couple of years later before we got kobie and a few weeks after we got Tofy.
Even though Mr. Pickle was never around dogs he instantly knew Kobie and Tofy were family. He knew how to calm the puppies whenever they were too "excitable". Kobie would fret whenever Pickles spent the night out or come home late. There was a bond between them.
Its been 5 days since he last came home. I've roamed the neighbourhood. I am constantly standing by the front door whistling, incase he may hear me and I'd hear the sweet sound of his collar bells coming towards me. This usually works, but lately i hear no bells. The RSPCA have said no one has reported a cat with his description in.
Pickles is microchipped, he has a red collar with a tag with his name and my mobile number. I've received no calls about him. On Thursday I bought him a new bowl, he hasnt seen it yet. My eyes hurt from crying so much, please, please come home soon.
